Our Story...

"Let's Have a Kiki"

Definition, slang: social gathering where the purpose is to relax, chat and have a good time.

Hi, I'm Sarah, founder of Kiki Seed Cracker Mix.

The original seed cracker recipe was given to me by my mum during the covid lockdowns when we were all at home with time on our hands to get creative in the kitchen.  Her recipe was so easy and foolproof - 2 oven trays of delicious crunchy crackers every time!

I started playing around with flavour ideas and gifting jars of the mix to friends to make their own crackers too.  Their positive feedback planted the seed that there was a market and an opportunity to fill it.  Going on to win 4 Gold medals at the 2023 NZ Artisan Awards, and Gold and Silver medals at the 2024 Outstanding Food Producer Awards was further proof that we were onto a winner!

Seed crackers are a 'gourmet' cracker and expensive to purchase ready made, but they are super easy to make yourself, especially when the hardest part of assembling all the ingredients has been done for you. Once you have eaten freshly baked Kiki seed crackers from your own oven, you probably won't want to go back to store bought again.

I appreciate that time and energy is precious, but even the most time-poor or 'non-baker' will discover how simple and satisfying it is to whip up a batch of delicious Kikis. And being Gluten free, Dairy free, Nut free and plant based, they can be enjoyed by almost everyone.

I hope the Kiki Mixes will become a staple in your pantry and your favourite foodie gift.  Kids love them. Friends love them. And you'll love getting the credit for your delicious homemade seed crackers!
