The Ultimate Cosy Crumble – Spiced Fruit & Kiki Crunch in Every Bite

A cosy winter dessert with the perfect Kiki crunch.

Craving something warm, comforting, and just a little indulgent? This Apple & Pear Crumble is our go-to dessert for chilly evenings — spiced fruit baked until soft and bubbling, topped with a golden crumble featuring crushed Kiki Seed Crackers for the perfect nutty crunch. Serve it warm with yoghurt or ice cream for a dessert that’s as nourishing as it is delicious.

Ingredients:

For the fruit filling:

  • 3 apples (Braeburn or Granny Smith), peeled and sliced
  • 2 pears, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or runny honey

For the crumble topping:

  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ¼ cup ground almonds
  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 2–3 Kiki Seed Crackers, crumbled
  • 2 tbsp melted coconut oil or butter
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar or maple syrup
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

1. Prep the Fruit:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (fan bake). In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples and pears with lemon juice, cinnamon, ginger, and maple syrup or honey. Spread the fruit evenly into a medium baking dish.

2. Make the Crumble:
In a separate bowl, combine the oats, ground almonds, nuts, sugar or syrup, and a pinch of salt. Crumble in the Kiki Seed Crackers and mix in the melted coconut oil or butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3. Bake to Perfection:
Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the fruit. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the fruit is soft and bubbling around the edges.

Why This Crumble is So Special:

This isn’t your average fruit dessert. The combination of cinnamon and ginger adds a warm spice, while the Kiki Seed Crackers bring a unique, seed-packed crunch you won’t find in traditional crumbles. It’s simple, soul-warming, and endlessly versatile — perfect for cosy nights in.

Tip:
Serve it fresh from the oven with a big spoonful of Greek yoghurt, whipped cream, or your favourite dairy-free alternative. It also makes a delicious breakfast (we won’t tell!).
